DESCRIPTION

The “Nature’s Therapeutic Recipes” book is composed of five sections namely: Medicinal Plants, Ayurveda, Natural Healing Stones, Yoga, Healing Therapies. In the book, there are 84 medicinal plants and 19 natural healing stones that are presented with their historical and mythological stories. There is also Ayurveda, Yoga, and important healing therapies such as Sun Salutation, Meditation, Breathing and Sound Therapies.

 

When describing her book Aslihan Koruyan Sabanci says “I decided writing my “Nature’s Therapeutic Recipes” book to appreciate and show gratitude to the cure that the nature has offered us, to transfer the knowledge and practices concerning nature and universe across generations, to create awareness to protect the biodiversity and our precious habitat.

 

There is a wealth of knowledge that is transferred throughout the generations since the ancient times via epics, mythology, poetry and art. The therapies that were used in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine, indigenous people thousand years ago shed light to the modern medicine today as alternative or assistive therapies. During Covid 19 Pandemic, I aimed to create awareness and help transfer the culture heritage and know how regarding the cures, therapies using medicinal plants.

 

Nature’s Therapeutic Recipes” includes not only healing stones and medicinal herbs but also Yoga-my life saving therapy that I practice every day for the past 13 years that saved me from back, neck and sciatica pain; and Ayurvedic therapies such as Neti Pot, Meditation, Breathing therapy. Health exists when body, mind, and soul work together. Even if we eat all healthy, we are not totally healed if our mind and soul health is not well. I hope my book will be useful for all of my readers and wish all of my readers from all ages a healthy and happy life!”

 

The recipes, herbs and stones in the book are beautifully styled photographed by Aslihan Koruyan Sabanci. The book is a must have resource in our libraries.
