Regular and Adequate sleep is important for our heart, brain and immune system. Today, many of us suffer from sleep deprivation. What can be done?

At least two hours before bed time:

  1. Consume the most valuable minerals and amino acids that aid sleep such as tryptophan (amino acid that is required for the production of melatonin) and magnesium:

  2. Do not eat during this time, consume relaxing teas such as linden and chamomile

  3. Do not use or charge your computer or phone, and do not watch television in your bedroom

  4. If you cannot sleep within 20 minutes, get out of bed and engage in relaxing activities such as yoga, meditation, read a book, listen to a relaxing music

  5. Set your body clock. Goto bed and wake up at the same hour every day

  6. Stay away from spicy, caffeinated, acidic food, smoking and alcohol

  7. Do not sleep too full or too hungry. Do not sleep in too cold or hot temperatures

  8. Keep relaxing aromatic herbs or oils by your bed side such as lavender
